RNase Inhibitor

RNase Inhibitor (RNasin)is a specific ribonuclease (RNase) inhibitor present in the human placenta, which is essentially a protein with a molecular weight of 51000 Da and an isoelectric pH of 4.7. RNasin can specifically bind to RNases A, B, and C with non-covalent bonds to form a 1:1 complex, thereby inactivating RNases, and has a broad spectrum of RNase inhibitory activity. RNasin was active at buffer 0-0.5 M NaCl, pH 5-8, and was most active at pH 7.8.

RNasin preserves the integrity of mRNA and helps improve the efficiency of transcription and translation, while avoiding the possible effects of organic compound inhibitors. Urea and sulfhydryl reagents can dissociate the complex formed by this product and RNase, so that RNase is revived, and RNase Inhibitor is irreversibly inactivated, so urea and sulfhydryl reagents should be avoided in the reaction system.
