Introduction
RNA is unstable and easily degraded. RNA Protect Reagent can be used instead of RNase-free water or TE to solubilize RNA pellets, or elute RNA from the RNA purification column. RNA dissolved in RNA Protect Reagent can be stored at 4℃ overnight or -20℃ for at least 1 year without degradation. RNA dissolved in RNA Protect Reagent can be directly subjected to electrophoresis and Northern blot experiments. Alternatively, RNA can be recovered by ethanol precipitation for use in other molecular biology experiments. RNA protectors are the best choice for long-term storage of RNA.
