Neutralization indicators
It serves as an indicator of neutralization during plasmid extraction.
Introduction
This product is an acid-base indicator with a blue initial state and different degrees of ionization in different acid-base solutions, resulting in structural changes that result in different colors of molecules and ions, and therefore different colors in solutions with different pH. This product can be directly added to plasmid extraction solution I., which plays an indicator role in the neutralization process of plasmid extraction.
Figure 1: not sufficiently neutralized
figure 2: fully neutralized
How to use:
- Mix solution I and neutralization indicator at a ratio of 1 ml of neutralization indicator per 100 ml of solution I., at which point solution I appears blue.
- Solution II was added during plasmid extraction, and the solution was still blue after the bacteria were fully lysed.
- When the plasmid is extracted, add solution III, gently invertthe centrifuge tube, the resulting precipitate will gradually turn pale yellow, when the precipitate completely turns pale yellow, it means that the solution has been neutralized; If there is still blue in the sediment, continue to gently invert the tube until the blue part of the pellet has completely turned yellowish.
